In line with the government budget announcement last year, TM is now launching the new package for university students. This package is for a netbook with free Streamyx broadband for 2 years.

The Package

 

384kbps = RM 50/month

512kbps = RM 65/month

1mbps = RM 80/month

2mbps = RM 95/month

4mbps = RM 100/month

HP Mini 210 (Intel Atom N650, 1GB Memory, 250GB hard disk, Windows 7 Starter, 2-year warranty)

  • HP Mini 210 (Intel Atom N650, 1GB Memory, 250GB hard disk, Windows 7 Starter, 2-year warranty)
  • Unlimited Streamyx 384kbps
  • FREE wireless modem with 12 months warranty from the date of installation.
  • FREE Streamyx Zone ID
  • Free Installation and Activation Fee
  • Hypptunes (50 songs download/month) for 12 month (100 songs download/month) for 12 month (1mbps and up package)
  • Free Netbook delivery

Now, the package looks good on paper, but wait til you see the long list of terms and conditions. Here are some of them:

  • The package is only eligible to 1st or 2nd year IPTA/IPTS with endorsement from the respective universities.
  • You must have a TM Homeline or TM Home Prepaid before subscribing to this package.
  • A deposit of RM75 will be chargeable in your bill. You will also need to pay for the internal wiring during the installation of TM Homeline which will be paid by the student direct to the installer
  • Internal Wiring for TM Homeline is chargeable (RM30- RM50)
  • The minimum subscription period of 2 years upon successful activation of Streamyx is applicable for this package. For any premature termination, an administrative fee of RM600 will be chargeable
  • After 24 months , student still enjoy monthly fee of RM50 etc according to their packages

Anyone can let me know? whether the homeline rental fee is included in RM38 or excluded?

It is included the phone rental. But for the first payment, you need to pay... RM70sumthing. I forget the amount already. That payment is the phone line deposit only. Then, following month you just pay RM38 only.

You may use back your existing phone number also. But that 1... If i not mistaken, you homeline will be converted to RM10 which mean the package for call domestic phone for free; handphone call will be charged RM0.10 per minute.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do u have any fren has gt the streamyx service under this package along with the netbook?

How long actually the time from registeration up to get the service plus netbook?

I has been apply more than a month now, the tm ppl just help me to fix up the phone line at how...i wondering why so slow..

Ha? I not sure urs la. I apply oledi. The day I apply, second day call me den third day fix. Within a week I get my netbook oledi

Price revision of current Cool UniPack

· The new price will be effective from 1st April 2010.

· Sales is continue selling at the current price of RM50 until 1st April 2010.

· Effective 1st April 2010, new subscribers will enjoy RM38 /month with HP netbook.

· Existing customer will be automatically enjoy the reduced price of RM50 in the next bill after 1st April 2010.

Plz help me.....Cool uni pack 384kbps is it fast enough? 384kbps is unlimited usage or limited to 20hours?

cool unipack 384kbps package is unlimited package and not limited for 20 hours use time..384kbps is enough speed for casual use such as internet browsing,read email etc..if you're using streamyx with others (wifi) i suggest you apply for at least 1mbps packages for only rm68 per month..
